I selected this exemplar because I wanted to practice my gilding, and of course, ducks! I took classes at Pennsic at the Guild Mirandola. Prior to Pennsic, I had been using miniatum as my size for the gold. At the class, I got to try using Permacol as well as a raised gesso, and I liked it so much that I purchased it to try at home.
I used Permacol to do flat gilding. I was very happy with the overall results. I did learn, however, that I needed to use more coats of the Permacol. I only used 3, where I should have used 4 to 5. I am ready to try it again, with more coats.

I was very happy with the ducks as I felt they were close to the original. I realize that I need to work on the whitework, and could have been more precise
Catriona (Katya) was very happy with the scroll and enjoyed the ducks.
